I've been coughing off and on for some years which upon checkups from two quality doctors seems to be due to I being allergic to something in air (I think high pollution because I never coughed like this during college years in USA and before that in Delhi). I reside in Delhi region which has a very high amount of pollution. I wonder if it's Ravan making us burn the harmful firecrackers? In my FB wall post yesterday, I've shared the link of another of my Health and Fitness India network's blog posts which lists the possibly very harmful chemicals in a firecracker:

The world is amazing! I felt blessed on Dusshera http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vijayadashami In the morning, I received email from HDFC with my bank balance and within a minute an email from my student loan co-signer in USA! My co-signer has been great to me for which I'm blessed!

During evening when I was going to the gym, there was no auto rickshaw at the stand outside my apartment complex. After a minute or so, I saw one coming and the driver was pushing it because it was broken. The driver was also talking to someone that there's a traffic jam towards the main road. It was perhaps because Ramlila http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramlila was going on in the large ground across the main road. I then thought that I shouldn't go out in open on ground today because of the possibility of very high pollution due to burning of Ravan. I then thought again which I've also thought before that perhaps Ravan is hurting us even today because of the very harmful smoke that we would breathe in due to it and that it's due to Ravan that we burn harmful firecrackers every year.

I also wonder about our elders leading us to such high amount of pollution here.

I then decided to workout at my apartment. I generally watch an episode of NCIS along with dinner. However, I did indoor cycle while watching it and so watched three of them. In the second one, "NCIS - Season 7 Episode 19 - Guilty Pleasure", student loans were mentioned! I wish that my work would increasingly justify the student loans I took for my college which was great!

Today I interacted with a girl who plays rummy well and has also won money online but doesn't like her college teachers for her CS degree. I shared with her these C Programming Lectures PPTs http://www.shaktisaran.com/CLectures.html and that I would also try to clear her doubts as best as I can including because she's working with me in my recruitment work and I also wish that when she'll be doing well professionally then she would also help others given there're colleges and institutes which don't seem to be doing even well enough for their students according to their students and that which is negatively affecting our society.

I wish that we can learn the great human values from Lord Ram.

Meditation - Health Fitness India

I've been meditating a bit for a decade and half now. However, I've been searching for a nice Yoga school to also improve myself in it. Recently, I thought that I had found one by visiting its web-site. I went to its class in a nearby top hospital where it's conducted, however, their evening timing was incorrect since I found out there that classes are only held during mornings. I thought that this was general administration's fault which seems to be with several things in India and not of the specialist yoga teachers themselves. However, there was very high amount of pollution on the way and so I decided to not go there including in the mornings because by when the class would've gotten over, the traffic would've increased much and that which would've also kept me in that very high pollution that much longer. Water Pollution - Health Fitness India

I welcome you to comment with anything of value. I wish that all of us realize that water pollution harms us, our family and friends, and our society and world at large. What's the point of earning money that will mostly go to curing diseases and that one wouldn't even be well enough to enjoy any of the remaining money? I wish that we can do much better than how things are in India and that if you wonder that why we Indians haven't been able to have things much better then I also wonder about our elders for the same, however, I also think that just by saying that they were/are useless or not good enough wouldn't help. We've to make the issue of water pollution a critical issue in our lives since water is critical for our lives without which we can't even live and that if we're drinking polluted water then seriously how well are we living? Can we think of the Indian street dogs who drink just whatever that they get? We're humans who're capable in general and that we can at least significantly reduce the issue of water pollution by all of us working together intelligently, smartly, and with common sense.

Three weeks after he mentioned this plan in book release function of HT, sports minister Ajay Maken on Thursday released the exposure 

    
“The aim is to bring about a change in attitude not only among the children but general public,” said Maken. He also said he hoped the programme would help groom future sporting stars of India.
 
According to the proposed draft, the top 10 percentage of gender wise performers shall be given an additional 3% to the marks obtained by him/her in academic disciplines in a given academic year.

Those between top 10 and 20 percentages will get an additional 2.5%, while performers between 20 to 30, 30 to 40 and 40 to 50 percentages will get an additional 2, 1.5 and 1% respectively.

Students will be evaluated on six parameters --- cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, explosive strength and body composition.

For each component, the ministry has proposed a physical test in January and June every year, with a marking scheme so that it can become part of 
the school’s yearly academic exercise.
 The proposed programme also prescribes a set of exercises to attain different levels of fitness including Surya Namaskara, an exercise adopted in all government schools in Madhya Pradesh.

A uniform assessment card and fitness assessment forms will be prepared by the Lakshmibai National University for Physical Fitness, Gwalior.

The sports ministry also aims to link the fitness programme with the Right To Education Act. The programme still needs the consent of the HRD ministry and state education departments.

She failed to be eligible for the Olympics final in London after tearing a ligament in her elbow. She saw her doctor again tweeted: “Elbow is healing as it should. My brace is off. “I now feel like I can draw a line under this Olympic cycle and start looking at the next.”

However, she suffered the injury as she made her fourth throw and it successfully ended her chances of an Olympic medal. She still attempted to be eligible for the Games final but went out after three no throws – and then had to watch a contest in which she would have won a silver medal had she been fit to battle and able to repeat her Grand Prix throw.

Features of Weight Lifting Exercises

If you are eager to develop your muscles and remain physically strong and agile, then you should start weight lifting exercises. Weightlifting is also one of the Track and Field Events.As a first step, you must identify the weightlifting exercises that will work best for you - after studying your present fitness level, the goals you wish to achieve and the time frame.

To obtain a total body makeover, you must choose a combination of weightlifting exercises that will work on each of the muscle groups. Your major muscle groups are the back, the chest, the shoulders, the biceps, the triceps, the quadriceps, the abdominals, and the legs.

Before commencing the weight lifting exercises, make sure that your daily workouts do not last beyond 45 minutes - as weight lifting for long hours can have negative effects.

  • The squat is a simple and yet an important exercise performed by squatting down with a weight held across the upper back and standing up straight again. If need be, you may use lifting belts to help support your lower back.

  • The next significant weight lifting exercise should be the leg press that is performed being seated by pushing a weight away from the body with the feet. It is preferable you use the leg press machine – but, you have to be cautious as overloading the machine can result in serious injuries.

  • You should include the commonly practiced deadlift into your list of exercises. The deadlift is performed by squatting down and lifting a weight off the floor with the hand until standing up straight again. You can use athletic equipments like dumbbells, barbell, trapbar or Smith machine.

  • The leg extension exercise is performed while seated by raising a weight out in front of the body with the feet. The legs extension serves to also strengthen the muscles around the knees and is an exercise that is recommended by physical therapists. You can use the leg extension machine for quick results.

  • The leg curl is performed while lying face down on a bench, by raising a weight with the feet towards the buttocks. This is an isolation exercise focusing on the hamstrings. It is preferable to use a leg curl machine.

  • The snatch is widely practiced and it is one of the two current Olympic weightlifting events. The nature of this exercise is to lift a barbell from the platform to locked arms overhead in a free flowing movement. The barbell is pulled as high as you can manage.
