In heart valve disease, one or more of the four valves that keep blood flowing in the right direction in the heart stops working. There are four types of heart valves: pulmonary valve, mitral valve, tricuspid valve, aortic valve. Each valve has flaps called leaflets, which are found in the tricuspid valve and mitral valve. The aorta and pulmonary wall consist of cauda. These flaps open and close during the heartbeat.
