What Causes Tuberculosis?

Tuberculosis (TB) bacteria is most commonly released into the body through air. Another person can also become infected by coming into contact with an infected person's cough or sneeze. After entering the body, this virus remains asleep for a long time and no symptoms are seen. But, when the body's immune system fails to fight the virus, it starts the attack. First of all, it attacks the lungs and damages the blood vessels. This is where the symptoms of TB begin to appear.

The risk of tuberculosis increases like this:

  • You have HIV or AIDS.
  • You have diabetes
  • There is some kind of cancer.
  • You are a victim of malnutrition.
  • You are taking chemotherapy or other cancer treatment.

It is not that you do not have tuberculosis (TB) if you do not have any type of disease mentioned above. Always consult a doctor in such a case.
