Diarrhea infection is caused by taking contaminated water and food, coming into contact with feces with dirty hands. Some common germs that cause gastro-enteritis and subsequently diarrhea are:

Safe drinking water, by maintaining provision for safe and hygienic disposal of human waste, can significantly reduce the risk of the sudden outbreak of diarrhea.
One of the major steps that can be taken to prevent diarrhea is the maintenance of proper personal hygiene. Diarrhea can be easily controlled by washing our hands with a handwash after going to the toilet and before cooking/eating.
