Non-surgical hair replacement procedures, for example, hair transplantation, may be desirable for various reasons, such as hair loss, and/or scarring from surgery, among others. For example, hair transplantation procedures generally include harvesting donor hair grafts from the back of the head, and implanting the harvested donor hair grafts at a number of different locations on a surface of a recipient site on the head. This may result in a natural looking and feeling scalp that resembles a dense head of hair.
Various techniques may be used for implanting hair grafts. For example, a strip graft may be secured at a desired location of the recipient site by causing permanent closure of a portion of the scalp over the donor grafts. However, such procedures may be expensive due to the significant amount of time and training that may be required to obtain specialized training in implanting donor grafts. Further, implanting and securing donor grafts may be cumbersome and may generally result in the hair being implanted into a wound cavity or wound bed at the recipient site. Additionally, implanting donor hair grafts may not provide the results that are desired in some cases.
It may be desirable to secure the donor hair grafts in a less invasive and/or non-invasive manner to provide faster and more natural results than traditional methods. As a result, various other Non-surgical hair transplantation techniques have been developed, including the use of a suture strip. For example, a suture strip may be secured on the scalp of the recipient site with a desired tension by causing permanent closure of a portion of the scalp over the donor grafts with a plurality of suture strips.
