Hepatitis B
The disease is caused by the hepatitis B virus. It is found in infected secretions from the blood and body such as semen and vaginal fluids, so it is usually spread through unprotected sex and reuse of previously used needles. Hepatitis B is particularly found in those taking drugs.
Hepatitis C
To a large extent, the virus is found in the blood, saliva, semen and liquid fluids released from the vagina of an infected person. This virus is specifically concentrated in the blood, so it is usually spread through 'blood to blood' contact.
Hepatitis D
This happens to people who are already infected with Hepatitis B. (The presence of Hepatitis B virus is necessary to keep your body alive).
Hepatitis E
This disease is found very rarely. The disease is usually mild and short-lived. Hepatitis E is spread through the mouth or through fecal contamination.
